Makar sankranti 2010 is on 14th January 2010, Thursday. 13th day of January is the date when lohri is celebrated with full joy and fervour. It is a festival of fertility and the spark of life. It is one of the famous festivals of Punjabis which depicts the end of winter and the coming of spring. Lohri consist a wish to Agni, and it usually comprises gazak, moongphali and til as prasad which is passed to each other to take and wish to agni for their wellness and prosperity in the new upcoming year. Lohri songs play a vital role in celebration with full fun and enjoy that consists beats of dhol and children sing and dance and finally asking for the Lohri prasad.
